The Underroot is one of the 25 Dungeons in the Scosglen region of Diablo 4. Dungeons, in general, are a great source for farming XP, gold coins, rare and legendary loot, and Renown Points, so it's best to clear one whenever you can. Compared to many others, The Underroot Dungeon is a significantly challenging Dungeon in Diablo 4 that's best tackled with a group of friends. It's easy to get overwhelmed in this Dungeon, thanks to the sheer amount of enemies that spawn. As such, here's our guide, which covers everything you need to know about the Underroot Dungeon in Diablo 4, including its location, how to clear, boss, potential rewards, and more.

Underroot Dungeon Location in Diablo 4

The Underroot Dungeon is located on the eastern side of the Scosglen region. You can unlock its entrance by clearing the Tur Dulra Stronghold

How to Clear the Underroot Dungeon in Diablo 4

Before getting into the nitty-gritty of the Underroot Dungeon, we recommend reaching level 30 and unlocking the ultimate ability. This Dungeon is brimming with hard-hitting enemies (some more vicious than in the Tur Dulra Stronghold), and whether you venture in solo or in a group, it's best to be prepared.

As soon as you enter, you will notice the dungeon objective, "Slay all enemies in the Labyrinth of Rot." In the first area, you will come across a ton of Shambling Corpses and Shambling Corpses Champions. It's best to bring a few pair of high DPS AOE and CC abilities that can clear the room with ease.

In the next area, you will come across hordes of Elite Enemies that also spawn poison pools. We recommend equipping gears with perks that debuff Elite enemy attacks or spawn protective shields when they hit you. Since you will be on the move a lot, it's best to insert Gems on your gear that increase your movement speed. These will ensure your survivability in the Underroot Dungeon.

As you move further into the Dungeon and reach Chambers of Offering, you will start encountering a new enemy type called Shattering Skittering Abomination. They deal a ton of damage and can take you and your team out fast with their tentacles and poison-spewing attacks, so it's best to keep your distance. At higher levels, these enemies also occasionally drop legendary or sacred items.

Finally, you will come across a Pedestal that requires two Ancient Statues to work. These Statues are in the areas on the opposite sides of the Pedestal. They are also swarming with enemies, including Elite versions of the Shattering Skittering Abomination. Make efficient use of your AOE abilities, and if you're a ranged character, use skills and gear that periodically activates barriers to avoid the most devastating attacks. Once you have gathered both the Statues, activate the Pedestal and proceed further.

How to Beat the Underroot Dungeon Boss in Diablo 4

Thankfully, there's no one main boss waiting for you at the end of the Underrot Dungeon. Instead, there are three Elite enemies with their respective armies. These aren't easy to slay but are also not as challenging as the main bosses of some of the other Dungeons in the game.

To clear the Underrot Dungeon, you have to destroy three Egg Clusters. They don't have attacks of their own, but they soak up a ton of damage. Additionally, you will be surrounded by Elite enemies that deal poison damage, so it's best to take them out before focusing on the Egg Clusters. Destroy all three of these to clear the Underroot Dungeon.

Underroot Dungeon Rewards in Diablo 4

Clearing the Underroot Dungeon will get you 30 Renown Points. In addition to this, you will unlock the Aspect of the Expectant Codex of Power. You will also get a ton of XP, gold coins, and a bunch of rare or legendary loot that the Elite enemies drop. That's everything you need to know about the Underroot Dungeon in Diablo 4.
